Home Work Stations

Working from home brings its own battles. Whether your children are present, your dining room table isn't quite ergonomically correct or your dog whines in your ear constantly, the atmosphere just seems a little...different. We see countless patients daily who have desk jobs, meaning they are now mostly working from home in their home office, whether it be existing or a makeshift one. Working form home also most likely comes with a laptop and not the beautiful 2 screen desktop you once had the luxury of working on!


Although our providers take time to discuss the importance of proper posture at work during patient appointments, we are assuming that it most likely got thrown out the window over the last couple of weeks. Due to this, we wanted to give you a few tips for you to use while working from home.


1. Avoid working on the couch or in bed.

2. Consider creating a standing desk at home.

3. Try to keep your ribs stacked over your pelvis.

4. Try to keep your chin tucked.


By paying attention to each of these tips, you will hopefully be able to avoid unnecessary aches and pains related to working at home. Feel free to send us pictures of your work station if you are unsure about anything!
